Department and Science and Technology (DST) is implementing two national missions on climate change and National Mission for Sustaining the Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE) is one among those. One of its deliverable is to set up State Climate Change Cells (SCCC) in the Indian Himalayan States.

These State CC Cells have already been established in 10 out of 12 Himalayan states by the Climate Change Programme-SPLICE of DST and other two states are going to be functional soon.
