The disaster risk analysis reports that despite the presence of multiple agencies focused on disaster management in the state, there is lack of proper allocation for disaster preparedness, with most of the emphasis being on post disaster mitigation.

The pilot project will focus on developing a rainfall threshold based landslide prediction model for the catchment area of Bhagirathi river in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
